Sept. 18 —Memories
of Elvis

Spend
the evening watching Chris Olson, one of the finest Elvis impersonators
shake, rattle and roll. Chris Olson’s life seems so
inevitable. The hair, the eyes, the sneer, the stride, and the voice ‘ “THAT
VOICE”. It’s obvious that he was born to play Elvis. Audiences agree,
Chris Olson’s “Memories of Elvis” show is as close as you can get to The
King himself! Chris will be performing a range of hit songs from the late
50s to the 70s. Bring your camera to the show and we’ll see you there!
You might be the one to get the Teddy Bear or scarves!

Nov. 13—Neal
and Leandra

Join us for a concert by Minneapolis acoustic singer/songwriters
Neal Hagberg and Leandra Peak. This duo has been popular for
more than two decades, forging a laid-back, easy-going folk style
with a variety of well-crafted originals and new treatments of
old standards. Their trademark vocal harmonies and direct, eloquent
song writing have won fans across the country. The two ended
up on the road to music mostly by accident. Hagberg was on his
way to medical school and Peak to a career in international business
when the road veered. Since then they have found themselves singing
to venues of all sizes. Their songs, combined with their remarkable
blend and funny stories, connects with people’s own experiences
in a way that keeps them coming back for more.

6 —A
Merry Christmas with Dallas Brass

Along with the visual images of colored lights and snowy landscapes,
the spirit of the Christmas season is best captured in music.
For centuries, brass instruments have been able to convey the
spirit of festive occasions, especially Christmas. As they perform
some of the world’s most well-known carols, the musicians of
the Dallas Brass brilliantly express the celebratory spirit of
the season. There are more songs for Christmas than all of the
other holidays combined - and no artist or ensemble performs
them better than the Dallas Brass. The holiday show, “A Merry
Christmas with Brass” adds sacred and secular holiday favorites
to the regular variety of Dallas Brass repertoire. The Ulen-Hitterdal
senior high band will join the Dallas Brass for the featured
song, as part of their Music in the Schools Project.

Feb. 5—Davina
and the Vagabonds

Davina Sowers hit the Midwest scene in February 2005 and she
hasn't looked back since. It didn't take her long after moving
to Minnesota from Key West, FL to start making a name for herself.
With great vocals and piano, she commands attention on stage
and leaves everyone smiling. Davina has been performing since
the age of 5, with the support of an extremely musical family.
Sowers, a classically-trained pianist, has years of experience
in piano performance. She and her band made a big splash at Duluth's
Bayfront Blues Festival in 2006 to 2008, having the highest sales
in CDs all three years. She has been called the "hardest working
blues woman in frigid Minnesota.”

“Two things remain consistent in all her shows: her throaty, but cushiony voice,
which has a sort of hard-mattress comfort to it that's part Bonnie Raitt, part
Etta James and a little Amy Winehouse; and her band's rollicking New Orleans
flavor, driven home by dueling horn players and a bayou-thick standup bass." (CHRIS
RIEMENSCHNEIDER, Star Tribune)

March 12 —Laura
and the Lads

Laura MacKenzie has learned from many tradition bearers on both
sides of the Atlantic, and has herself been recognized as a Master
Folk Artist (Minnesota State Arts Board). She has been lauded
as a "Celtic music wizard" by the Minneapolis Star Tribune and
a "High priestess of Celtic music" by Minnesota Public Radio.
She plays music from Ireland, Scotland, England, Nova Scotia,
Central France and Galicia on a dazzling array of wind-powered
instruments, including flutes, whistles, concertina, voice, and
many bagpipes - Scottish, French and English, bellows and blown.
Together with the Lads – Gary Rue on guitar and Michael Bissonnette
on percussion, this will be a concert you won’t want to miss.
Come celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with us!

"A really enjoyable listen...it gets your feet moving from the outset - and,
as with much great Celtic music, it makes you feel happy and uplifted." "A very
impressive musician...an amazing array of instruments." "The input of the 'Lads'
really does reinforce the excellence of MacKenzie's musicianship." -Rambles

combination of comedy and music featuring five male vocalists
